You’ve already developed skills that will make you successful and happy. They’ve been seared into your mind and nervous system rep after rep; set after set; workout after workout; meal after meal; and day after day. Through the dedication and focus you developed as a competitor, you will get there. It’s not a question of “if.” It’s just a question of “when.”
Not many people on this planet can do what you’ve done with your body. You’ve invested a massive amount of your willpower, focus, energy, and time to put yourself in our very special group. Of course, you didn’t put all that superhuman power into those other areas of life you now want to improve upon. Who could? It’s perfectly understandable. Other people just don’t get it. Maybe even you at times. I do.
It’s not too late to be great. I know it’s hard to believe that sometimes. You’ve already displayed greatness over and over again with your thinking, habits, and body. Now, it’s time to shift some of those superhuman powers you’ve earned into other directions too. That’s all. You got this.
I know this all sounds good but what do I really know about you? What do I know about your particular situation and journey? Those are valid questions. One thing I’ve realized in just about 30 years of the dedicated fitness lifestyle and even longer in personal development is how similar we all are. Yeah. I know we like to put ourselves into separate divisions and categories. I’ve discovered what makes us awesome and what challenges us most. I believe we chose this unique, demanding lifestyle for many of the same reasons. When you learn more about what I’ve discovered, you may be totally relieved. I’ll offer insight and perspective that you’ll want to entertain.
I know most people don’t “get” you. They don’t understand what drives you so hard. It makes your journey more challenging. I say, screw them! They know NOTHING about us and why we do what we do. We don’t need their approval to be happy and successful.
Again, it’s not too late to be great.
Let’s do what’s needed with all the work ethic and discipline we’ve earned.
You’re just one “contest prep season” away from the life you really want.
