“I Want Something Just Like This”

But she said, where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can kiss
I want something just like this.

— Coldplay

When we met, we each knew that we had to strip ourselves of our “protective shield” in order to cultivate a relationship that would last.

There wasn’t much of a honeymoon period as we dove into the nuts and bolts of starting a future. It was necessary for where we wanted our lives to go.

Remaining vulnerable enough to grow while staying strong enough to look our challenges in the eye, we set out on the path forward.

We chose to accept flaws, embrace imperfections, appreciate little things, dream of big things, thrive on connection, commit ourselves to honesty, be a team and always love unconditionally.

We got this.

P.S. Get email updates from my wife, Carrie, and my journey because we’ll share what we learned about using the superhuman powers we’ve earned through our dedication to fitness to win in life too.
