SKIP LA COUR’S DAILY TRAINING JOURNAL COMMENTS

"I want to start by stating that you are a great role model for myself and everyone interested in taking bodybuilding to the next level and beyond. The fact that you took the extra time to sign your Daily Training Journal and mentioned a few motivating words is amazing...You don't know how much I cherish something like this! In addition, I have read the first few pages and I am totally blown away by the detailed information you supply. I am ready to tackle this program and I would like to let you know, that I will take before and after pictures and let you in on my success. Once again, thanks for taking the extra time to sign my book."

"Skip La Cour's Daily Training Journal, for me, has been the 'Bible of Bodybuilding'! I just want to thank you for your excellent advice. I just got home from my first bodybuilding contest tonight. I was the guy who e-mailed you about five weeks ago when people were telling me I was getting ready too soon. You responded that same night with words of encouragement. Well, my goal was to take the overall in my first show, a pretty large goal for a first show. And I did it! I won the middleweight class, took best poser in the middleweight class, with what I thought was just a basic routine. I did however thank the judges, something you talked about in your Daily Training Journal. This went over very well. And yes, I took the overall. My first show and I took the overall. I won the NABF 2000 Massachusetts Super Natural Middleweight, and Overall Champion, as well as best poser! I am so happy, and along with my wife and training partner, you have been a major help in this great accomplishment. I would like to truly thank you Skip, you are a wonderful man, and you should be very proud of yourself. If I can ever be of any help to you just ask, I owe you big time."

"The morning after I restricted sodium and added potassium I looked brilliant! I was in the best condition of my life. From now on, I will always follow your method. You’re the man! In all the years of training, I was never so strong—especially being on a strict diet. I dread to think what I will be lifting off-season! Thanks, Skip!"

"I wanted to thank you for helping me win my first show (all natural, of course). Without the tips and motivation from your Daily Training Journal, I don't think I would have done as well. Also, just knowing that I wasn't the only person who was going through the tough times helped a lot too. I think it's great that you feel confident enough in yourself to divulge all of your contest preparation strategies and tips. They really help guys who are just starting to compete. Thanks again, for being so honest and for taking the time to really help educate up-and-coming bodybuilders. You give us natural guys hope that we can achieve greatness without succumbing to the easy and unnatural way of training that so many other guys in the gym do. It's nice to know a pro who must earn every ounce of muscle—and is willing to help others learn to do the same."

Three Days Left!

"I’ve got three days to go to my show. I’ve been using your training journal to help me get into the best shape ever. My glutes are ripped!! I must say that at the start of the carb/potassium loading phase, I was a bit worried about starting too early. But, like you said in the journal you must have faith in the system! Thanks again for all you help and allowing me to reach such great condition!"

Two Days Left!

Man, I can’t believe today how I look…(in your own words) SCARY! Skip, you are right—your guidance is unbelievable! I owe you so much respect. I will make it my mission to meet up with you and thank you personally…I PROMISE! Man, my glutes are ripped to the bone; my thighs ripped so deep I could place coins between the cuts; my triceps are SCARY! All I can say is that I am in such a positive mood. I’ve never been this confident and I’ve still have two days to go! Thanks again! You are the TRUE and ONLY NATURAL GURU!"

The Day After The Show

"Skip, I could not believe by Saturday how my physique had changed day-to-day from when I spoke to you three days before the show. To be honest with you, I looked totally AWESOME. This may sound arrogant, but I will send you the photos and even try to get you sent a video of the show so you can see for yourself."

"Skip, when I competed at the Nationals and came runner up in the Heavy weight class I weighed 180lbs at the ANB World Champs I weighed 191lbs and was in better condition. My muscle were so full I thought they were going to explode, whilst I was back stage getting ready for the pre-judging. I was even contemplating not even pumping up as I was so full! I owe this success to your training journal and guidance. I would of not been able to have got into that condition without your help. I will send you my comparative photos from the British Champs and the World Champs so you can see the difference. It shocked me!! I was finally able to compete with full/ripped muscle. This condition left me and my fellow British teammates amazed! Thanks again for all you help and support. "

"After returning home (from meeting you at the Arnold Classic) I decided to buy your Daily Training Journal to help me prepare for my first bodybuilding competition. I've been lifting weights and competing in powerlifting for the last twenty years and your passion for your sport really impressed me. I've been following your training protocols for the last two years and have made some very good progress. I followed your journal for the entire thirteen weeks and was very pleased with the results. I won the Novice light-heavyweight class of the NGA Ohio Classic held May 22! Your willingness to share your strategies took all the guess work out of contest preparation. It was very challenging but I had confidence the strategies would work. I told everyone at the contest about your journal and encouraged them to check out your web page. You are the best coach on the planet!"

"As a sports nutritionist, I knew my diet was coming along with Skip La Cour's Daily Training Journal. But the tips on posing, tanning, and final week supplementation are fantastic! This book has given me the final missing link to give me the assurance and confidence I need in my upcoming shows. I can only hope my competitors don't find out about Skip's journal."

"Great book, that TRAINING JOURNAL!!! I just finished it. I have to give you the utmost credit, you are an animal with preparation. My hat is off to you! I must admit, I was skeptical about your book, with it being so expensive and all. I figured, though, the diet prep would be worth it. Not only was the diet prep worth it, but everything in the manual was excellent. Your desire, your drive, and your regimen has become a motivator to me! I will keep you updated as to my contest performance. Thanks again! You are a great inspiration!"

"A quick thank you for the information contained in Skip La Cour’s Daily Training Journal. It is the best! It is well worth the money and I use as a continual reference. It is so packed with information (good information) and easy to find with the detailed Table of Contents. Thank you for helping me 'Think Big'!"

"You just sent me your training journal and I cannot put it down. My workout partner was at my house when it arrived... he offered me a hundred dollars in supplements for the book, but there was no way I was going to give that book up! I appreciate the time you devote to others like myself. Everyone around me knows about you because I constantly talk about you, even my first graders that I teach know who you are. They always ask if you can chaperone on one of our field trips! They would love to see your lunchbox! Many things in my life have caught my eye, but the articles and advice you offer have captured my heart. I believe those are the things in life one should pursue. You have renewed my self-faith in my bodybuilding dreams. I look forward to your new videos and books. I don't know if you have posters, but if you do, I would like to purchase one for my classroom. I feel it is important that the children see the person I look up to because I am constantly encouraging them to learn from someone they look up to. If I had enough spare change I would like to have you come speak to my children, that would blow their minds, but sadly they don't pay us enough for me to do that! I hope your training and other life pursuits are going well. Here is a quote for you that I came up with... A spark in a heart causes a burning desire. Thank you so much, Skip."

"Let me say first that you are one of the driving forces in my bodybuilding life, and just recently you are a force that saved it!! I am a student who has written to you before from LaSalle College in Newton, MA. I finished out the school year in May '99. I had seriously been training all school year and making unbelievable gains. I had modeled my training after your daily training journal and was experiencing lifts like never before!! I had reached a 600 lb. smith squat, A 300 lb. bench press, 275 lb. military press and much more. I couldn't believe it!! But then, I lost it. I don't know if it was the training or school, but I hit rock bottom. My studies started to die out and I stopped going to the gym. I just couldn't get out of bed in the morning. The year ended bleakly and I was not looking forward to the summer. I concentrated solely on my job in May and headed into June eating with no discipline and not exercising, but then an amazing thing happened. I was working on my new web site a couple days ago, and decided to take a break. As I surfed the net I came across one of my favorite bookmarks, AST. I hadn't been on the site for awhile and was astounded at the amount of journal entries I had missed. I began reading and was transfixed. Tears came to my eyes as I realized what I had been missing and marveled at the progress you have made. I got up and looked in the mirror and was shocked. No abs left, no veins, extra weight around the waist. I got on the scale and hung my head, 17 pounds in six weeks. I didn't even have to get out the calipers to tell it was all fat. My girlfriend always says, "You look fine", but Skip, I really couldn't believe I had let myself go. I continued reading and began to feel the fire again. So, this morning I broke out the Myoplex (sorry) and hit the gym. I am starting out slow to avoid injuries, but I felt SO ALIVE!! I came to work with a bright face and a new outlook. I have 12 weeks till I go back to school, and I am going to be back in the shape that I was when I get there. And from there, maybe a contest a couple years from now. But I missed the love, I missed your writings and whether you know it or not, you are right beside me. You are the man. And suddenly I feel up to being the man again. Thank you Skip LaCour."

"Your daily training journal is great. I wanted to say that between your World Championships Journal and Thinking Big I have progressed a long way--surprisingly not as a bodybuilder but in every other area of my life where I have taken your advice. I made the step from being unemployed to getting offered two Manager positions in one day from two applications, and progressing from junior trainee sales to Sales Manager in 3 1/2 months."
