The picture accompanying this video tells a powerful story.
There’s Rich standing proudly on his boat on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. He looks happy, confident, and in control. His young niece is standing beside him with a big smile on her face.
She looked at him and said what only a child would say so honestly:
“Hey, you’re not fat anymore.”
It was funny, direct, and sincere. But that innocent comment represented something much bigger.
Rich’s family could see a change that was sometimes difficult for him to recognize because he looked at himself every day. People who hadn’t seen him since his wedding immediately noticed that he looked different.
His wife was proudly showing everyone his before-and-after pictures. His progress was motivating her. His clothes were fitting better. He had more energy. He was getting more done around the house and at work. He was looking forward to going to the gym instead of treating it like another obligation.
That’s why I encourage you to listen closely to this conversation.
This isn’t merely an endorsement about losing weight. It’s an honest look at what can happen when an older man finally gets the right strategy, accountability, perspective, and support.
A workout routine is easy to find. Someone can hand you a list of exercises, sets, and repetitions. Someone can tell you what foods to eat.
The most important part of coaching is making all of that work in your real life—and staying with it long enough to change how you see yourself.
Let’s See What One-on-One Coaching Can Do for You And Your Life
If you’re an older man who has accomplished a lot but still feels frustrated with your body, fill out the questionnaire below.
Fill out the questionnaire and send me a current picture. I’ll contact you personally. We’ll talk about where you are, what you’ve tried, what you want to accomplish, and whether my one-on-one coaching is a good fit for you.
Here are some of the things you can get from coaching with me that go far beyond sets, repetitions, calories, and meal plans:
✔ A fitness strategy built around your life. You need a plan that fits your career, family, responsibilities, schedule, preferences, and current stage of life.
✔ Clarity about what your goals actually require. You’ll understand how much training, structure, discipline, and time the transformation should realistically take.
✔ An effective and efficient approach. If success requires the equivalent of 500 free throws, I won’t tell you that 100 is enough. I also won’t make you shoot 1,000 when 500 will get the job done. More isn’t better—better is better.
✔ Accountability that gets you back on track quickly. An imperfect meal or weekend doesn’t need to turn into two bad weeks or another abandoned fitness attempt.
✔ Objective proof that you’re making progress. Weekly pictures, weigh-ins, training records, and regular evaluations help you see changes that the mirror and scale may hide.
✔ Help appreciating the magnitude of your success. You may be winning at an eight-out-of-ten level while emotionally believing you’re only at a three. I’ll help you see what’s really happening.
✔ Perspective during frustrating periods. You’ll understand what your body is doing, why certain changes take time, and what adjustments should—or should not—be made.
✔ Greater confidence in your decisions. You won’t constantly wonder whether you’re eating correctly, training hard enough, doing too much, or wasting your time.
✔ A faster recovery from setbacks. The goal isn’t lifetime perfection. The goal is becoming the man who can immediately correct his course.
✔ Strategies you can sustain. We aren’t trying to produce a temporary result with an extreme program you can’t maintain. We’re building a lifestyle you can continue.
✔ More energy for everything else in your life. Getting your fitness under control can improve how you perform at work, how you feel at home, and how much enthusiasm you bring to each day.
✔ A positive influence on your family. When your wife, children, relatives, and friends see you changing, your example can inspire them to raise their own standards.
✔ Greater appreciation for the life you’ve built. When you feel uncomfortable in your body, that one issue can overshadow your career, family, relationships, lifestyle, and accomplishments.
✔ A new relationship with exercise. Training can change from something you force yourself to do into something you genuinely want to do.
✔ The certainty that you can keep this for life. The ultimate goal is to reach the point where you trust yourself, understand the process, and know how to maintain control.
This is what Rich is experiencing.
Yes, he is losing weight. Yes, his clothes fit better. Yes, other people can see the physical difference.
But the real transformation is how he feels standing at the helm of his boat—proud, confident, energetic, happy, and fully present with the people he loves.
That is what one-on-one coaching can do when it goes beyond handing someone a workout routine and diet.
